I just finished devouring “4 Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferriss, the book that’s causing a ton of buzz! I got a ton of emails from a bunch of marketing influencers including Ken McCarthy and Joe Polish announcing their interviews with Ferriss. Below are links to both interviews…listening will make you RUN out to your nearest bookstore to buy the book!
Ferriss details numerous strategies and provides a ton of links of resources for us to easily outsource and delegate daily activities that we really shouldn’t be doing as entrepreneurs and professionals. He provides much food for thought on lifestyle design and extracting ourselves from our businesses so that they can run effectively without us.
This book resonated with me because I was buried in email and was absolutely disgusted at all the emails downloading into my Inbox on hitting Send/Receive. One of them was from Ken McCarthy whose subject line said: The 4-Hour Workweek-Reality or Pipe Dream?………I immediately opened this timely email as the subject hit a raw nerve and I promptly dropped everything to eagerly listen to Ken’s interview with Tim. Listened 3 times and immediately ordered the book. Was shocked to hear that Tim read email once a month and had various aspects of his entire business outsourced to highly competent teams all over the world which freed up his time to travel, explore and simply enjoy life! I the book, he shows a diagram of how he accomplishes this!
Oddly enough, as I spoke with friends here and overseas since, the book has come across everyone’s path and everyone is talking about it! Check out Ken’s audio interview.
Joe Polish also did an interview with Tim
I am fortunate that I will actually get to meet Tim at Rich Schefren’s event this month so I will keep everyone posted. Google him and watch Youtube and Google Videos of his presentations. Also visit his website, www.fourhourworkweek.com for more information! This guy is PHENOMENAL and you can learn much from him, no matter where you are in your business journey.
As I read Tim’s book about time, lifestyle and managing your environment, I heard many of the things Dan Kennedy preaches about Renegade Millionaire Time Management habits and behaviors. As you may know, Dan is strict when it comes to Time and how it’s spent. If you haven’t read Dan’s book, No B.S. Time Management, it is a must-read. Tim has a similar spin as Dan and gives you a lot of practical ‘how-to’s” on making it happen in your life.
Also, Ferriss is a master at marketing…take note of how he has been able to promote his book through blogs and connecting to major influencers online and offline. Come back and share you comments on how the book resonated with you! Enjoy!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHi Marlene - I thought this was a great post. I also read the book (listened to the Audible version) and have been recommending it to everyone I know. I thought it was interesting that of the four books he mentioned in his “Must Reads” was Dan’s “How to Make Millions with Your Ideas.” I’ve been telling people the chapters on redefining your life and eliminating information make it worth the price of admission. Keep up the great work. -Karl
[...] Rich mentioned Tim had done 28 radio interviews in one week. Then, Annemarie Segaric pointed me to Marlene Green’s blog where she has links to two audio interviews with Tim, one at Joe Polish’s blog and another at [...]
While Tim’s book goes “over the line” when recommending to do less than your best while at the office so it will make your output while away from the office even better and even though he was able to dumb down the use of the word “architecture” to a point that even my mentor, Mr. I.M. Pei would probably cringe, I was still unable to put the book down. His wit and thought provoking examples that he uses to successfully illustrate his many ideas and steps to achieve better time management are well worth reading - more than once. Heck, just the over flowing bucket of resources in the text, footnotes, and in the end chapters make the book worth more than the cover price.
