Just attended James Malinchak’s Big Money Speaker Success Bootcamp.  See www.SeeJamesMalinchak.com to learn more about James.  He is the best person to learn from if you are serious about becoming a Paid Professional Speaker for Colleges, Associations and Corporations.  In full disclosure, I am a friend of James and member of his Platinum Mastermind Group…

I love attending events like these because I get to meet really awesome people from around the world and I always manage to get a few nuggets that will help me improve my game!  I believe in the Principle of Slight Edge and will always be open to learning new strategies, ideas and insights from anyone that will give me a slight edge over the competition!

Alex Mandossian, Tom Antion, Brian Tracy, Jonathan Sprinkles, and John Beede were in attendance as guest speakers. I have 5 memorable moments to share with you that are instructive:

1.  As a Platinum Member, James arranged for us to have private time and photos with Brian Tracy.  I really don’t like being in pictures so when it came time to take my picture with Brian Tracy, I held my hands together.  He gently whispered, “Marlene, put your hands down…”    This kind gesture on his part said alot about him!

Most gurus standing there taking pictures with a line of people would be in a rush to move on to the next person and would never care to encourage you to “put your best foot forward”.  Two things struck me about Mr. Tracy:  he remembered everyone’s name, including mine, and he took a moment to care enough to tell me how to best pose for the picture! This speaks volumes about the man!  He also gave a phenomenal presentation to boot!

2.  One of my favorite marketers of all time is Alex Mandossian, Teleseminar Secrets Guru!  A great person to study and model.  What I love about Alex is how down to earth, transparent and generous he is always!  (Do check out his blog at www.AlexMandossian.com and his Teleseminar Secrets Program – he is the best!).

Even though his voice was almost gone, he managed to command everyone’s attention with his hypnotic voice!  He was simply gracious to everyone even though he wasn’t feeling well and he always gives me a hug when I see him!    Again, another guru who subtly shows that he cares deeply about his fans and audience members…

3.  I also met Alex Ellis…not a guru but a fascinating person.  Alex is the Founder of Tied to Greatness at www.TiedToGreatness.org.  His organization travels around the country to schools and colleges and conducts ceremonies where celebrities and local leaders show young men how to Tie a Tie!!!  This Alex blew me away because it always bothered me that so many young men are growing up without a man around to show them how to dress and present themselves!

If you are a guy, who taught you how to Tie Your Tie???  Consider the men who never had someone in their lives to show them!  Alex told me some fascinating stories of how emotional these Tieing Ceremonies can get!  I encourage you to check out and support Tied to Greatness at www.TiedToGreatness.org in any way you can!  This simple act is changing the lives of young men dramatically!  Bravo Alex Ellis…you have my support!

4.  I also had the privilege of crossing paths with Dr. Miguel Pagan from New Jersey!  He is a Hispanic Entrepreneur, Chiropractor and Professional Speaker.  He came over to ask me about James’ Mastermind Group and I promptly told him to get on board and all the reasons why he should.  He thanked me for my encouragement.  Later in the day he ran over to me and excitedly said that he learned about James from James’ appearance on the cover of Millionaire Blueprints Magazine!  That blueprint profile led him to attend James’ speaker training bootcamp…and who knows what’s next for him!  I foresee a brighter future as a professional speaker for Dr. Pagan and to think it all started with him simply picking up a copy of Millionaire Blueprints Magazine for the first time!  That’s powerful!

5.  Finally, I must share by encounter with Arel Moodie, America’s Top Young Speaker of www.ArelMoodie.com…During Tom Antion’s presentation there was this young Hispanic Guy sitting behind me and annoying me to death as he chewed and popped 3 bubblegums!  Thinking evil thoughts which included slapping him, I really wanted to turn around and tell him to stop but I couldn’t because everyone would hear me.  I suffered through the noise coming from his mouth the entire time!

At the end of the day he walked over to say hi and I just had to let him have it about his gum chewing!  Turns out he has an oral fixation with chewing and is totally unconscious about how loud it gets and what a distraction it is.  We had a good laugh about it and he thanked me for pointing out his behavior to him!  I was so relieved to get it off my chest, to help him out…and to now have a new friend who is a super-successful young entrepreneur who travels around the country speaking on college campuses.

Arel Moodie is a fine young man and I am so happy to have met him…though it was to give him a piece of my mind!  Moral of the story is to speak your mind when people are annoying you…as long as it’s safe…humor helps!  Most of the time they are not conscious of their behavior!  And, you just might end up with a new friend!

Please check out all these gentlemen and post your comments below!  Thanks!
